GAITHERSBURG, MD: In the span of just several weeks, Chris Burnett – retired Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel, national security attorney, and Republican candidate for Maryland's 6th Congressional District – has become one of the most sought-after voices in national media on U.S. policy in the Middle East, the Iran conflict, and military strategy. Burnett has appeared on major national outlets, including News Nation, The Brian Kilmeade Show, The Right View with Lara Trump, and Real America's Voice, among others – logging more than a dozen national media appearances in recent weeks.
Burnett’s national media presence is grounded in 22 years of active Marine Corps service, including five combat deployments, and a legal career focused on national security and international law. His commentary has addressed the military, legal, and geopolitical dimensions of the Iran conflict in ways that go beyond the typical political analyst.
"Ensuring stability in the Middle East and securing the Strait of Hormuz isn't separate from what we're doing in Western Maryland – it's the same mission. When we control our energy future and lead in advanced technology, we stop being held hostage abroad and start creating real opportunity at home." – Chris Burnett
Burnett has used his national platform to introduce his Western Maryland Innovation Corridor – a comprehensive, no-new-taxes plan to bring AI, quantum computing, advanced manufacturing, and small modular reactor energy production to Western Maryland through public-private partnerships. The plan was featured during his appearance on The Brian Kilmeade Show, where Kilmeade called the data center and SMR framework one of “the hottest debates state-to-state.”
“AI, quantum computing, and advanced manufacturing are national security priorities. We can leverage those priorities to get the infrastructure we need, protect residents, and take advantage of cutting-edge energy technologies that will supplement the grid — not drain it,” said Burnett.
With the June 23rd primary approaching, Burnett is now focused on bringing that national conversation home by engaging regional and local media across Western Maryland and the greater DC market on topics such as U.S. policy in the Middle East, the Iran conflict, data centers, energy independence, infrastructure, affordability, and the national security challenges shaping our economy and communities.
